PROGRAMME

DAY (01) 01-22-2011 YANGON ARRIVAL & SIGHTSEEING

• Arrival Yangon by international flight.
• Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel.
• Sightseeing tour of Yangon visiting Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image.
A reclining Chaukhtatgyi Buddha Image is 230ft (70 m) long in the pose of rest; the head is lifted up by the right arm bent at the elbow. It is housed under a metal roofed shelter on Shwegondine Road.
• Colonial style buildings and Botahtaung Pagoda.
• The original Botahtaung Pagoda was destroyed by bombing during World War II and a replica built in the place. Relics excavated from the treasure chamber were re-enshrined. This is the only pagoda where one can walk along a spiraling corridor.
• Evening visit Shwedagon Pagoda.
• Shwedagon Pagoda rises 326ft (99.3m) above its base. Erected more than 2500 years ago and enshrining eight hairs of Buddha placed in a treasure chamber deep under its base. It is the highest symbol of the people's devotion to Buddha.

DAY (02) 01-23-2011 YANGON-BAGAN (BY FLIGHT) & SIGHTSEEING

• Breakfast at hotel.
• Transfer to airport to board flight for Bagan
• Arrive Bagan and check in to the hotel
• Start for high light sightseeing in Bagan.
Bagan on the eastern banks of Ayeyarwaddy is home to the largest area of Buddhist temples, pagodas and stupas many dating to 11th and 12th centuries.
• Visit Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta but not completed until the reign of Kyansitthar.
• Kyansitthar U min, long dimly lit corridors decorated with frescoes.
• Htilominlo Temple, 150 ft high temple with fine plaster carvings, glazed sandstone decorations in the base.
• Ananda Temple, one of the most beautiful temples in Bagan built by King Kyansitthar.
• After visit Thatbyinnyu Temple, tallest in Bagan built by King Alaung Sithu.
• Myinkaba Gu Byauk Gyi Temple with mural paintings.
• Myinkaba lacquer ware village to see the manufacturing stages.
• Manuha Temple which houses four immense Buddha images.
• View the sunset at Shwesandaw Pagoda.

DAY (03) 01-24-2011 BAGAN-MT. POPA-BAGAN

• Breakfast at hotel.
• Start for trip to Mt. Popa
Mt. Popa is about 30 miles (50km) from Bagan. Mt. Popa or Popa Taung Kalut is 2417ft (737m) standing apart from higher forested mountain, looks like a tower. The mountain was shaped out of a volcano that may have erupted some 250000 years ago. The 25 minutes climb steep and stiff. It gets cooler as you get higher and views are fantastic.
• On the way visit jaggery (palm sugar) production huts.
• After return back to Bagan and visit Dhamayangyi Temple, huge brick red temple built by King Narathu,
Sulamani Temple a beautiful majestic structure built by King Narapati Sithu.
• Enjoy sunset at Pyathatgyi Temple.

DAY (04) 01-25-2011 BAGAN-MANDALAY (BY FLIGHT)-AMARAPURA-SAGAING-U BEIN-MANDALAY

• Breakfast at hotel.
• Transfer to airport to board flight for Mandalay.
• Arrive Mandalay and drive to Mahagandaryone Buddhist Monastery where over thousands of monks are dwelling.
• Proceed to Sagaing.
Sagaing is a town at the foot of Sagaing Hills, dotted with hundreds of pagodas, monasteries and nunneries quarters.
• In Sagaing visit Soon Oo Ponya Shin Pagoda, perched on the highest hill which offers panoramic views of the valleys and wide Ayeyarwady River. After visit to U Min Thonze (Hall of thirty Buddhas) and to silver smith work shops in Yahtaung village.
• Proceeding on the way visit Kaunghmudaw Pagoda, styled after the domed shape of the famous Mahacedi Pagoda in Sri Lanka. Actually 6 miles west from Sagaing.
• Returnb back to Amarapura, capital before Mandalay for visiting silk weaving industry cottages.
• Later visit U Bein Bridge, 1.6km long wooden bridge built over 150 years.
• Evening view the sunset at U Bein Bridge.

DAY (05) 01-26-2011 MANDALAY-MINGUN-MANDALAY(BY BOAT) & SIGHTSEEING

• Breakfast at hotel.
• After drive to jetty for taking a boat trip about one hour cruise to Mingune.
• Visit huge unfinished pagoda, split by earthquake in 1838, world's largest working bell and Myatheindan pagoda built by King Bagyidaw in 1816.

Mingune is located on the western bank of the Ayeyarwady River not far from Sagaing and half day trip 7 miles upriver from Mandalay.
• In late afternoon return back to Mandalay.
• Visit Ku Tho Daw Pagoda also known as world's largest book, Golden Palace Monastery, which was once part of the palace complex where King Mindon lived.
• Evening view the sunset at Mandalay Hill.

DAY (06) 01-27-2011 MANDALAY-HEHO (BY FLIGHT)-PINDAYA CAVE-INLE LAKE

• Transfer to airport to board flight for Heho.
• Arrive Heho you are now in the Shan State. Agreeable climate 800 meter high, fertile land culture of various flowers and vegetables for the whole of Myanmar. Directly drive to Pindaya Cave.
• Heho is a small town located in Kalaw Township.

Pindaya Cave, a three hour drive from Heho believe to contain more than 8000 Buddha Images of all sizes, carved in wood, stone, marble and bronze thickly glided.
• Later drive to Nyaung Shwe.
• Take a boat transfer to Hotel check in.

DAY (07) 01-28-2011 INLE LAKE SIGHTSEEING

• Breakfast at hotel.
• Full day sightseeing by boat on the beautiful Inle Lake.
The Lake is the home to Inthar national race, many of whom live in stilted houses built over the water. Inle Lake is second largest lake in Myanmar, stretches 11 miles (17.7km).
• On this boat trip you will visit the market places, floating villages and gardens, cheroot workshops, black smith, silk weaving industries and some factories.
• You can also see Intha technique of leg-rowing where one leg is wrapped around the paddle to drive the boat and also their traditional way of fishing.
• Afternoon: Visit the famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and Nga Hpe` Kyaung Monastery also known as Jumping Cats Monastery.

DAY (08) 01-29-2011 INLE LAKE-HEHO-YANGON (BY FLIGHT) & BAGO-GOLDEN ROCK

• Breakfast at hotel.
• After breakfast, check out from the hotel and take a boat trip to Nyaung Shwe.
• Arrive in Nyaung Shwe, proceed to Heho airport.
• Arrive Heho airport to board flight for Yangon.
• Arrive Yangon and proceed to Golden Rock via Bago.
Bago is an ancient capital of Mon Kingdom of 13th to 16th centuries, about 40 miles (65km) north of Yangon.
• Before entering Bago visit Kyaikpun, four Buddhas Images sitting in back-to-back position. Next stop at pot
making cottages to see their manufacturing stages.
• Visit Bago local market and Shwemawdaw Pagoda, one of the most famous sites in Bago.
• Enjoy trip to Golden Rock
• Take an open truck at Kinpun Base Camp for ascending to middle camp and from there walk about 45 minutes to your hotel.

DAY(09) 01-30-2011 GOLDEN ROCK-YANGON

• Breakfast at hotel.
• After breakfast Tour around Golden Rock pagoda platform and surroundings, market place and other interesting sites.
Golden Rock Pagoda is a small spire of 18ft (5.5m) believed to enshrine a hair relic of Buddha. It is set a top a huge boulder which in turn is balanced on the edge of a cliff.
Check out from hotel and walk back to middle camp, take an open truck again for descending back to Kinpun base camp.Take a drive back to Yangon.
• Before entering Yangon if time permits, visit Htaut Kyant War Cemetery (fallen allied soldiers of World War II)
• Arrive Yangon and hotel check in

Detail Itinerary
Day (01) Yangon arrival
Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport welcome by our local tour guide and transfer to your hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, drive through the colonial style buildings downtown, the Chinatown area and the Indian quarter. Visit Sule Pagoda with its golden chedi which makes a useful landmark in downtown Yangon. Continue to Botahtaung Pagoda, located close to Yangon River and said to contain Buddha relics. Stop alongside Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake to take photographs over the lake towards Shwedagon. Enjoy the sunset at Shwedagon Pagoda; famous world wide – its golden stupa is the ‘heart’ of Buddhist Myanmar. The Pagoda is believed to be 2,500 years old and the central stupa in surrounded by dozens of intricately decorated buildings and statues. There are always many Myanmar people praying and making offerings at Shwedagon, and it’s a fascinating place to spend time watching the go by. Overnight at YUZANA HOTEL (DELUXE ROOM/PAGODA VIEW).


Day (02) Yangon – Bagan (By Flight)
Breakfast. Early morning transfer to Yangon Airport. Air Mandalay or Yangon Airways or Air Bagan flight from Yangon to Bagan (approx 2:10 hours with via and 1:25 hours with direct flight). From the airport, start your full day Bagan Sightseeing tour includes visit to Nyaung-U Market with a visit to see the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda, which is Bagan’s most important reliquary shrine – look out for images of the 37 ‘nots’ housed in a small hall. See 12th Century frescoes adorning the corridors of Kyansittha ‘Cave’ Temple. Next stop is Htilominlo, the last Bamar style temple built in Bagan, with old murals and friezes. Pass through Tharaba Gateway into Old Bagan. Continue to Ananda Temple, a whitewashed masterpiece of Mon architecture with four standing Buddhas, and the adjacent brick monastery from the Early Bagan era with well-preserved murals. Make photo stop at the tallest temple measuring 61 metres – Thatbyinnyu known as ‘temple of omniscience’ and dating from 1144. Check into your hotel late morning. In the afternoon, visit Mingalazedi, the last of the large.Pagodas built in the 13th Century, representing the pinnacle of Bamar pagoda architecture. Continue to the Myinkaba area and Gubyaukgyi Temple, with its fine stucco work. Visit Nanpaya Temple, built in the Mon style with intricate stone carvings, and said once to have been Manuha’s residence. See the four Buddha images in Manuha Pagoda and then stop at Myazedi Stuppa to see Myanmar’s “Rosetta Stone”, bearing inscriptions written in four languages. Stop at Lacquer ware factory to watch craftsmen skillfully making this most famous of Bagan handicrafts. At sunset, climb to the top of one of the monuments to enjoy magnificent views over Bagan’s temples and the Ayeyarwady River. Overnight at NYAUNG U THANDE HOTEL (SUPERIOR ROOM).

Day (03) Bagan-Mt. Popa-Bagan
Breakfast. This morning drive to Mt. Popa about 2 hours, home to Myanmar's intriguing 'Nats'(spirits). Visit Mt. Popa. The steps and path climbs steeply up Mount Popa- an energetic climb rewarded by fabulous views from the top. After sightseeing at Mt. Popa, return to Bagan, on the way you can see through villages, goes on the groups of stupas (Paya Thozu Temple, (Three Pagoda) and near around the temples) to see the countryside and to stop at the Minanthu village and climb to the top of one of the monuments to enjoy magnificent views over Bagan’s temples. Accommodation at NYAUNG U HOTEL (SUPERIOR ROOM).

Day (04) Bagan – Mandalay (By Flight)-Amarapura
Breakfast. Transfer to Bagan Airport. Air Mandalay or Yangon Airways or Air Bagan flight from Bagan to Mandalay (approx 1:25 hours). Upon arrival at Mandalay Airport proceed directly to Amarapura. Visit Mahagandayon, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study. A full day of sightseeing starts with a visit to the ancient city of Amarapura and to nearby U Bein Bridge, which is over a kilometer long and made entirely of teak. Continue to visit with Mahamuni Pagoda, home to Mandalay’s holiest Buddha statue, Stop to see stone carving and, later, to see gold leaf being beaten into wafer thin pieces. In the afternoon, visit Shwenandaw Monastery, an ancient wooden building with intricate carvings, which was once King Mindon’s home. Continue to see the ‘world’s largest book’, being the Buddhist Scriptures inscribed on marble slabs, at Kuthodaw Pagoda. Visit Kyaukdawgyi Pagoda to see a large Buddha statue carved out of a single block of local marble. Enjoy spectacular views at sunset from Mandalay Hill, where there are interesting glass-studded temples. Accommodation at MANDALAY CITY HOTEL (STANDARD ROOM).

Day (05) Mandalay-Mingun (by boat)-Yangon (by flight)
Breakfast. Boat excursion (one hour each way) up the Ayeyarwaddy River to Mingun, site of the world’s largest intact bronze bell, 3.7 meters high and weighing 87 tons, Also visit the huge but unfinished Mingun Paya (built with the intention of being the world’s biggest pagoda) and the beautiful Hsinbyume Paya. After then you return back to Mandalay check out the hotel, transfer to Mandalay Airport. Air Mandalay or Yangon Airways or Air Bagan flight from Mandalay to Yangon (approx 1:25 hours). Arrival at Yangon, check in your hotel. Overnight at YUZANA HOTEL (DELUXE ROOM/ PAGODA VIEW)

Day (06) Yangon-Bago-Golden Rock (by coach)
Breakfast. Early morning, drive out of Yangon to the Ancient Capital of MON Kingdom, Bagao ( Pegu ), about 80 kilometres northeast of Yangon. Tour highlights include Kyaik Pun Buddha Images four 30 metre high Buddha figures seated back to back; Kyakhatwine Teaching Monastery; Wood Carving Workshop; Kanbawza Thadi Palace, built by King Bayintnaung in 15th Century. It is a great archaeological site in Bago; 55 metres long Shwethalyaung reclining Buddha image; Cheroot Making Cottage Industry; Shwemawdaw Pagoda, over a thousand years old, its spire is even taller than the Shwedagon Pagoda. From Bago, drive through seemingly endless paddy fields to the small town of Kyaikto (114 km - 3 hours) and on to the ' base camp ' of Kimpun. Transfer to light truck and drive about 45 minutes to the transit camp and walk up the path which climbs steeply to the legendary ' Golden Rock '. ( The climb takes around 1 hours and those unwilling , or not fit enough, to walk can hire four porters to carry them in a sedan chair at an extra cost of approximately US$ 10 per person). The incredible ' Golden Rock ' sits precariously on top of the mountain, and is said to balance thanks to a precisely placed hair of Buddha.Overnight at MOUNTAIN TOP HOTEL (SUPERIOR ROOM).

Day (07) Golden Rock-Yangon-Bangkok
Breakfast. Morning, Transfer to light truck and drive about 45 minutes to the transit camp and walk up the path which climbs steeply to the legendary ' Golden Rock '. ( The climb takes around 1 hours and those unwilling , or not fit enough, to walk can hire four porters to carry them in a sedan chair at an extra cost of approximately US$ 10 per person). The incredible ' Golden Rock ' sits precariously on top of the mountain, and is said to balance thanks to a precisely placed hair of Buddha. After paying visit to the Golden Rock, climb down and drive back by light truck to your car/minibus to the base camp at Kinpun. Afternoon, drive back to Yangon (194 km - 5 hours). En route visit the War Graves Cemetery near Htauk Kyant and a tree shrine dedicated to legendary animist spirits known as 'Nats'. At the evening you arrive at Yangon and check out your hotel. After then transfer to Yangon International Airport for your departure.

Detail Itinerary
Day (01) Yangon arrival

Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport welcome by our local tour guide and transfer to your hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, drive through the colonial style buildings downtown, the Chinatown area and the Indian quarter. Visit Sule Pagoda with its golden chedi which makes a useful landmark in downtown Yangon. Continue to Botahtaung Pagoda, located close to Yangon River and said to contain Buddha relics. Stop alongside Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake to take photographs over the lake towards Shwedagon. Enjoy the sunset at Shwedagon Pagoda; famous world wide – its golden stupa is the ‘heart’ of Buddhist Myanmar. The Pagoda is believed to be 2,500 years old and the central stupa in surrounded by dozens of intricately decorated buildings and statues. There are always many Myanmar people praying and making offerings at Shwedagon, and it’s a fascinating place to spend time watching the go by. Overnight at YUZANA HOTEL (DELUXE ROOM/PAGODA VIEW).


Day (02) Yangon – Bagan (By Flight)
Breakfast. Early morning transfer to Yangon Airport. Air Mandalay or Yangon Airways or Air Bagan flight from Yangon to Bagan (approx 2:10 hours with via and 1:25 hours with direct flight). From the airport, start your full day Bagan Sightseeing tour includes visit to Nyaung-U Market with a visit to see the golden stupa of Shwezigon Pagoda, which is Bagan’s most important reliquary shrine – look out for images of the 37 ‘nots’ housed in a small hall. See 12th Century frescoes adorning the corridors of Kyansittha ‘Cave’ Temple. Next stop is Htilominlo, the last Bamar style temple built in Bagan, with old murals and friezes. Pass through Tharaba Gateway into Old Bagan. Continue to Ananda Temple, a whitewashed masterpiece of Mon architecture with four standing Buddhas, and the adjacent brick monastery from the Early Bagan era with well-preserved murals. Make photo stop at the tallest temple measuring 61 metres – Thatbyinnyu known as ‘temple of omniscience’ and dating from 1144. Check into your hotel late morning. In the afternoon, visit Mingalazedi, the last of the large.Pagodas built in the 13th Century, representing the pinnacle of Bamar pagoda architecture. Continue to the Myinkaba area and Gubyaukgyi Temple, with its fine stucco work. Visit Nanpaya Temple, built in the Mon style with intricate stone carvings, and said once to have been Manuha’s residence. See the four Buddha images in Manuha Pagoda and then stop at Myazedi Stuppa to see Myanmar’s “Rosetta Stone”, bearing inscriptions written in four languages. Stop at Lacquer ware factory to watch craftsmen skillfully making this most famous of Bagan handicrafts. At sunset, climb to the top of one of the monuments to enjoy magnificent views over Bagan’s temples and the Ayeyarwady River. Overnight at NYAUNG U THANDE HOTEL (SUPERIOR ROOM).

Day (03) Bagan-Mt. Popa-Bagan
Breakfast. This morning drive to Mt. Popa about 2 hours, home to Myanmar's intriguing 'Nats'(spirits). Visit Mt. Popa. The steps and path climbs steeply up Mount Popa- an energetic climb rewarded by fabulous views from the top. After sightseeing at Mt. Popa, return to Bagan, on the way you can see through villages, goes on the groups of stupas (Paya Thozu Temple, (Three Pagoda) and near around the temples) to see the countryside and to stop at the Minanthu village and climb to the top of one of the monuments to enjoy magnificent views over Bagan’s temples. Accommodation at NYAUNG U HOTEL (SUPERIOR ROOM).

Day (04) Bagan – Mandalay (By Flight)-Amarapura
Breakfast. Transfer to Bagan Airport. Air Mandalay or Yangon Airways or Air Bagan flight from Bagan to Mandalay (approx 1:25 hours). Upon arrival at Mandalay Airport proceed directly to Amarapura. Visit Mahagandayon, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study. A full day of sightseeing starts with a visit to the ancient city of Amarapura and to nearby U Bein Bridge, which is over a kilometer long and made entirely of teak. Continue to visit with Mahamuni Pagoda, home to Mandalay’s holiest Buddha statue, Stop to see stone carving and, later, to see gold leaf being beaten into wafer thin pieces. In the afternoon, visit Shwenandaw Monastery, an ancient wooden building with intricate carvings, which was once King Mindon’s home. Continue to see the ‘world’s largest book’, being the Buddhist Scriptures inscribed on marble slabs, at Kuthodaw Pagoda. Visit Kyaukdawgyi Pagoda to see a large Buddha statue carved out of a single block of local marble. Enjoy spectacular views at sunset from Mandalay Hill, where there are interesting glass-studded temples. Accommodation at MANDALAY CITY HOTEL (STANDARD ROOM).

Day (05) Mandalay-Mingun (by boat)-Yangon (by flight)
Breakfast. Boat excursion (one hour each way) up the Ayeyarwaddy River to Mingun, site of the world’s largest intact bronze bell, 3.7 meters high and weighing 87 tons, Also visit the huge but unfinished Mingun Paya (built with the intention of being the world’s biggest pagoda) and the beautiful Hsinbyume Paya. After then you return back to Mandalay check out the hotel, transfer to Mandalay Airport. Air Mandalay or Yangon Airways or Air Bagan flight from Mandalay to Yangon (approx 1:25 hours). Arrival at Yangon, check in your hotel. Overnight at YUZANA HOTEL (DELUXE ROOM/ PAGODA VIEW)
